Staff Report
WARSAW — A Michigan City man was recently arrested for allegedly stealing over $2,000 worth of batteries and tools from the Warsaw Rural King store.
Glennard James Anglemyer, 38, Michigan City, is charged with theft and sentence enhancement theft, both level 6 felonies; and theft, a class A misdemeanor.
On Jan. 6, a Warsaw Police officer responded to a theft report at Rural King Supply. A store employee said he noticed a man with a shopping cart full of Milwaukee tools.
According to court documents, when the employee asked the man if he paid for the tools, the man ignored the employee and left the store without paying. The employee took a photograph of the vehicle the man left the store in.
It was determined the man stole six Milwaukee batteries and four Milwaukee tools, with the total value of all the items being $2,499.
On Jan. 19, a Warsaw detective was contacted by a Plymouth detective about the Rural King theft, providing Anglemyer’s name as a possible suspect.
Upon reviewing additional surveillance footage from the store on Feb. 13, the Warsaw detective was able to positively identify Anglemyer as the man who stole the tools and batteries.
Anglemyer was previously convicted of theft in LaPorte County in January 2022.
Anglemyer was booked in the Kosciusko County Jail on Nov. 29.
