Navarro Arrested For Allegedly Threatening To Kill Children
Staff Report
NAPPANEE — A Nappanee woman was arrested for allegedly threatening to kill children.
Lucille Renee Navarro, 30, 216 Stonewall Court Apartment 4, Nappanee, is charged with intimidation, a level 6 felony; and unlawful carrying of a handgun and resisting law enforcement, both class A misdemeanors.
On Dec. 7, Nappanee Police officers’ presence was requested at a school bus stop due to an ongoing issue with parents and children. Officers went to the bus stop as a school bus stopped to pick up five children.
According to court documents, while getting on the bus, the children were “a little rowdy.” One child turned around and yelled profanity.
Navarro, who was at the bus stop, turned to face law enforcement and asked them why they were there if they were not going to do anything. She then yelled at an adult on the bus, used profanity, and said the other children should not be around her children.
When the school bus traveled about 20 feet away from the stop, Navarro allegedly turned toward the officers and said, “Since you won’t do anything, I’ll just f****** murder a bunch of children. I will literally kill them.”
Officers then took Navarro into custody. During this, Navarro resisted arrest multiple times. Upon a search of Navarro’s person, officers found a taser.
Navarro was previously convicted of domestic battery in Kosciusko County in July 2021.
Navarro has already been arrested and released on bond. She has an initial hearing at 11 a.m. Jan. 11, in Kosciusko Superior Court One.
