Deadline Is Nearing For TWF’s Annual Photo Contest
News Release
INDIANA — With just days away from the end of the year, the deadline to enter The Watershed Foundation’s annual Picture Your Watershed photo contest is fast approaching.
Each year, professionals and hobbyists alike are invited to share their most captivating images of life within The Watershed Foundation’s coverage area. All ages are welcome to participate, and a variety of subjects are encouraged as well.
To be eligible, all entries should be taken within the Upper Tippecanoe River Watershed, stretching from Crooked Lake in Whitley County to the Tippecanoe River downstream in Warsaw. This large expanse of land includes more than 60 lakes and the land surrounding them in Noble, Whitley and Kosciusko counties.
“All hours of the day, all times of the year, our watershed features great beauty. Through our annual photo contest, we look for images that capture that beauty and the essence of what makes life so special here,” said Jennifer Zartman Romano, communications coordinator for The Watershed Foundation. “This year, I’m really hoping for some winter images. We receive a lot of summer scenes, but we are definitely excited to see the splendor that exists during other parts of the year, too.”
The deadline to enter is Sunday, Dec. 31. In January, the community will be invited to help choose TWF’s People’s Choice award-winning photo. Awards will also be presented in several categories, including: Lovin’ the Lakes, people engaged in lake activities like tubing, swimming, walking along the shore; Wet ‘n’ Wildlife, animals and wildlife; Nature’s Studio, landscapes and watery reflections; Pollution Solutions, capturing volunteer efforts and the fixes which protect the lakes; Memories of the Lakes, vintage photos of life and loved ones at local lakes.
