Atwood Otterbein Pastor To Start Sermon Series For The New Year
News Release
ATWOOD — Atwood Otterbein Church pastor David Banning will introduce his new sermon series, “Becoming the People of God,” for the upcoming season beginning Sunday, Jan. 7, 2024.
The new calendar year begins the season of Epiphany, a time when Christians focus on the revelation that Jesus is fully God and fully human, God incarnate among them, according to Banning. He will be using the season between Epiphany and Ash Wednesday to explore “becoming the people of God.” He will share that Christians are on a constant journey of becoming as they travel a path shared with followers in the Old and New Testaments, guided by “the divine Light who forms us individually and communally into the people of God.”
Sunday services begin at 9:30 a.m., and folks are encouraged to come early for coffee and stay late for snacks and Bible study with Patsianne Harrold. The church is located at 306 E. Main St. in Atwood and is handicapped accessible.
Banning may be reached by phone at (574) 858-2291 or by email at [email protected]. The church website may be found at atwoodotterbeinchurch.org and its Facebook page is Atwood Otterbein Church.
