WARSAW — A Warsaw man was recently arrested for allegedly stealing a shotgun.
Jason Wayne Rohrer, 40, 1692 E. 200N Lot 13, Warsaw, is charged with theft of a firearm, a level 5 felony.
On Feb. 3, a Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office detective responded to a theft complaint. A man said Rohrer stole a shotgun from his gun cabinet.
According to court documents, when confronted about the theft, Rohrer told the man he took the firearm by wiggling it through broken glass on the front of the gun case. He said he traded the shotgun in exchange for some drugs. The person in possession of the firearm told the man he wanted $200 for the firearm.
The detective attempted to contact Rohrer on Feb. 4, with no success. On Feb. 13, the detective spoke with legal counsel for the person allegedly in possession of the firearm. The attorney said their client was not involved in the incident.
