Fear is A Liar Ministries Donates To Kosciusko County Riley Kids Fund In Honor Of Payton Slaymaker
WARSAW — Fear is a Liar Ministries recently donated $3,000 to the Kosciusko County Riley Kids Fund held at the Kosciusko County Community Foundation. The money was raised during a 5K held in memory of Payton Slaymaker.
Fear is a Liar Ministries was started by Andrew and Kim Slaymaker after losing their daughter, Payton, to a rare form of brain cancer called Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma, or DIPG, in 2021. The ministry was created to support families who are fighting their own battles against childhood cancers. With a mission of letting families know that they are not alone, they provide gift cards for gas, groceries and restaurants, pay for hotels, offer monetary gifts, and help with unforeseeable expenses.
“Our goal is to let these families know that there is hope,” said Kim Slaymaker. “By giving the money raised from Payton’s 5K to the Kosciusko County Riley Kids Fund, we hope to further support the needs of families in our communities who need help.”
The Kosciusko County Riley Kids Fund was established by business partners, Alan Alderfer and Mike Bergen and funded by many generous community donors. The fund provides support to Riley Children’s Hospital and financial assistance to Kosciusko County families with a child receiving medical treatments at Riley.
