Overmeyer Arrested On Drug, Burglary, Theft Charges
Staff Report
WARSAW — A Pierceton man was recently arrested on drug, burglary, and theft charges.
Adam Lee Overmeyer, 45, 240 EMS R4 Lane, Pierceton, is charged with dealing methamphetamine, a level 2 felony; dealing in more than one gram of a fentanyl containing substance and possession of methamphetamine, both level 4 felonies; burglary, a level 5 felony; possession of a narcotic drug, possession of cocaine, and theft, all level 6 felonies; and driving while suspended, a class A misdemeanor.
On Nov. 16, a Warsaw Police officer noticed a vehicle being driven partially off a roadway and at an excessive speed. The officer pulled the vehicle over and its driver identified himself as Overmeyer.
According to court documents, Overmeyer told the officer his driver’s license was suspended. The officer confirmed this was true. When he asked Overmeyer to stand up to exit the vehicle, the officer noticed a bag containing what was believed to be illegal drugs. Upon searching the vehicle, the officer found $1,130 in cash, a small plastic bag containing 1.9 grams of fentanyl pills, 28.6 grams of meth, and 1.6 grams of cocaine.
On Dec. 15, a Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office deputy responded to a theft report in Warsaw. The deputy spoke with a woman who said she was in bed when she heard an entrance door to her detached garage open and close.
The woman saw her white 2017 Nissan Versa being backed onto a roadway and was unable to identify its driver. Prior to the theft occurring, law enforcement were searching near the woman’s property for Overmeyer, who evaded officers in a vehicle pursuit.
On Dec. 17, the stolen vehicle was recovered. Upon processing the vehicle on Dec. 18, a KCSO detective found a receipt from the Dollar General store in Leesburg. The receipt had a time stamp from an hour after the vehicle was reported stolen. An empty box for one of the purchased items was in the vehicle, and the woman said the purchased items did not belong to her.
Officers reviewed surveillance footage from the store and identified Overmeyer as the suspect.
Overmeyer was booked in the Kosciusko County Jail on Dec. 28.
