Warsaw Man Arrested For Allegedly Battering Pregnant Woman
Staff Report
WARSAW — A Warsaw man was recently arrested for allegedly battering a pregnant woman.
Justin O’Neal Eddie Jackson, 25, 125 Canterbury Lane, Warsaw, is charged with domestic battery to a pregnant woman, a level 5 felony; domestic battery with a child under 16 present, a level 6 felony; and domestic battery, a class A misdemeanor.
On Dec. 29, 2023, a Warsaw Police officer responded to a battery incident. Upon arrival at the scene, the officer spoke with Jackson, who said he had an argument with a woman who is six months pregnant.
According to court documents, the woman asked Jackson to help her with her phone when Jackson saw some information on the phone he did not like. Jackson said he told the woman to leave and that they were both at the top of a flight of stairs when the woman slid down the stairs on her stomach.
The woman told the officer Jackson told her to leave, but that he said he would drag her down the stairs if she didn’t willingly do so. When the woman called an individual to tell them what was going on, Jackson allegedly pulled the woman off a couch and dragged her to the top of a flight of stairs. Jackson maneuvered the woman so she was facing headfirst down the stairs and let go of her ankles, causing the woman to fall to the bottom of the stairs.
The woman’s injuries included redness to her left ankle and left wrist, an abrasion on her left hip, and a bloody lip. A child was present during this incident.
Upon speaking with the officer again, Jackson said the woman tried to hit him with a baby gate and did a “swan dive” down the stairs on her own.
Jackson was booked in the Kosciusko County Jail on Dec. 29, 2023, with an $11,000 surety and cash bond.
