Warsaw Man Arrested For Allegedly Battering, Threatening Woman

WARSAW — A Warsaw man was recently arrested for allegedly threatening and battering a woman.
Ricky Anthony Johnson, 43, 4196 N. Deer Run, Warsaw, is charged with possession of methamphetamine, intimidation, and domestic battery with a prior conviction enhancement, all level 6 felonies; domestic battery, a class A misdemeanor; and possession of methamphetamine with enhancing circumstances, a level 5 felony.
On Jan. 1, a Warsaw Police officer responded to a domestic battery report. A woman said she was attempting to leave a residence after having a verbal argument with Johnson when Johnson grabbed her by the back of her hair and around her neck.
According to court documents, Johnson told the woman he would bash her face in and could kill her if he wanted to. The officer didn’t notice any visible marks on the woman and could not find Johnson at that time.
Later in the day, law enforcement received a report about Johnson using a machete to allegedly threaten a man. The officer went to the scene and spoke with Johnson, who was holding a small box containing meth.
Johnson denied putting his hands on the woman or threatening her.
Johnson has prior convictions for dealing cocaine or a narcotic drug and battery.
Johnson was booked in the Kosciusko County Jail on Jan. 1, with a $10,500 surety and cash bond.
