Area Accident Reports
Kosciusko County
Officers with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office investigated the following accidents:
- 6:43 p.m. Friday, Jan. 5, North CR 100E, near West Barrington Place, Warsaw. Driver: Kelly D. Harp, 36, EMS T25 Lane, Leesburg. Harp’s vehicle hit a deer. Damage up to $5,000.
- 4:07 p.m. Friday, Jan. 5, 370 S. 250E, Warsaw. Drivers: Randy T. Runkel, 59, West CR 550S, Claypool; and Alex J. Wilson, 24, West CR 800S, South Whitley. Runkel’s vehicle rear-ended Wilson’s. Damage up to $5,000.
Elkhart County
Officers with the Elkhart County Sheriff’s Office investigated the following accident:
- 4:24 a.m. Monday, Jan. 8, CR 33, south of CR 48, north of Syracuse. Driver: Dylan Taylor, 24, Syracuse. Taylor complained of head pain and sustained scratches. A passenger in his vehicle, Keely Hays, 24, Syracuse, sustained facial injuries and complained of pain all-around. Both were transported to an area hospital. Taylor was northbound in a 2006 Pontiac Vibe when he veered off the east side of the road, traveling several hundred feet before hitting a utility pole. The crash is still being investigated.
Marshall County
Officers with the Marshall County Sheriff’s Office investigated the following accident:
- 2:40 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 7, 10000 block King Road. Driver: Brady Koz, 30, Argos. Koz was southbound on King Road when his vehicle veered off the roadway hitting a large stump, mailboxes and an REMC utility pole. Koz was arrested after tests indicated he was over two times the legal limit of alcohol.
