North Webster Community Public Library — Celebrate National Hobby Month

NORTH WEBSTER — January is National Hobby Month and the North Webster Community Public Library invites the community to embrace the spirit of exploration and discovery. Dive into the vast collection of books at the library, where you’ll find a treasure trove of resources on a myriad of hobbies, providing the perfect inspiration for spending those long winter nights learning something new. Whether you’re interested in gardening, photography, cooking or any other hobby, the library has a book for you.
As an added bonus, NWCPL also offers hands-on experiences through various craft classes. Join the rotating adult craft class for a chance to create beautiful, creative, practical items or explore the world of needle felting in the bimonthly needle felting classes. Weekly Library Events
The following activities are set to take place at North Webster Community Public Library. Attendees do not need to have a library card to participate in any of these events.
Adult Events
“Beat the Winter Blues” day will be from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 16. Keep your brain active this winter by doing crafts, playing games, doing puzzles and learning new skills. No registration required — just drop in for the fun.
Killer Reads true crime book club will be meeting at 5:45 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 16. This month’s book is “Women Who Kill” by Ann Jones.
Exercise classes will be happening at the library this week. “Get Fit While You Sit” chair exercise will be meeting at 10:30 a.m. and 4 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 18. “Let’s Move Dance” class will be held at 5 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 18. These classes are free and open to the public, no library card required.
Teen Events
Have the after-school blues? Stop by on Mondays between 3:30 and 5:30 p.m. Monday, Jan. 15, to hang out with friends, play board games and battle in Mario Kart on the Nintendo Switch. Feel free to bring your games to play. Snacks, coffee and pop will be provided.
Children’s Events
No school on Martin Luther King Jr. Day, so join in at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Jan. 15, for Family Bingo. Since Wawasee has no classes on Monday, the library has organized some games instead. Come play bingo and see if you can snag some cool prizes. Games start at 10:30 a.m. and they will play until everyone wins. No registration required.
