WARSAW — The Warsaw Breakfast Optimist Club is again sponsoring the Optimist Essay Contest for area youth, who can win cash prizes.

The local deadline for entry is Thursday, Feb. 1.

The topic for the 2023-2024 school year is: “Optimism: How it Connects Us.”

The contest is open to contestants under the age of 19 as of Oct. 1 of the current Optimist International contest year, which runs from Oct. 1 through Sept. 30, and who have not yet completed secondary school or its equivalent.

The maximum number of submissions that will be accepted is 20.

The top three finishers will earn cash prizes of $300, $150 and $50.

All applications for the Warsaw Breakfast Optimist Club will be returned to essay chairwoman Shari Benyousky and will receive verifications of receipt.
