Warsaw Woman Arrested For Allegedly Battering Several Children
Staff Report
WARSAW — A Warsaw woman was arrested for allegedly battering several children while under the influence.
Felisha Nicole Kidd, 35, 729 E. Center St., Warsaw, is charged with domestic battery resulting in injury to a person less than 14 years of age, a level 5 felony; domestic battery to a person less than 14 years of age and domestic battery with a child present, both level 6 felonies; and two counts of battery, both class A misdemeanors.
On Dec. 30, 2023, Warsaw Police officers responded to a domestic complaint. Upon arrival at the scene, they saw Kidd on the ground with a cut on her face. Her right eye was also swollen and bruised. Officers noticed Kidd was exhibiting signs of intoxication.
According to court documents, Kidd said a child punched and pushed her. The child and four other children left the scene.
An officer spoke with a relative of four of the children. The relative said all five children came to his home and said Kidd was unconscious.
One of the four children said their significant other came over for dinner and that Kidd was drunk and rude. When the child tried to help Kidd change the youngest child’s diaper, Kidd allegedly backhanded the child, who hit her back.
The child said Kidd smacked their face and another child’s, which led to them kicking Kidd. When the child attempted to get help, Kidd dragged them across the ground by their hair. The child’s significant other tried to intervene by pinning Kidd to the ground and holding her hands.
However, Kidd eventually re-entered the home, grabbed one of the four children by their hair, and pushed their head up against a wall. A short time later, Kidd began writhing around on the floor and all five children left the scene.
An officer noticed an imprint of a bite mark on one of the children and was told Kidd did that to the child while they were shopping at a store. Surveillance footage from the store showed Kidd picking the child up out of a grocery cart and biting their right cheek.
Kidd said she and the five children were shopping when an argument ensued because the child’s significant other was not allowed to spend the night. Kidd could not remember any other details and tested 0.25% BrAC on a portable breath test. Officers noticed fresh scratches on Kidd’s neck and face, and a bruise on her left thigh. Kidd allegedly said one of the children was bitten while at church.
The child’s significant other said they could smell alcohol on Kidd when she came to their home to pick them up. They also recalled details of the battery and said they contacted their mother to have them come to their location as soon as possible. Officers noticed scratches on the significant other’s neck and throat area.
The significant other’s mother told officers she saw Kidd on top of her child and that Kidd choked them. While the mother was attempting to get Kidd off of her child, Kidd scratched her neck. Officers noticed scratches on the mother’s neck and throat area.
Kidd has already been arrested and released on bond. She has an initial hearing at 11 a.m. Feb. 1, in Kosciusko Superior Court One.
