Claypool Man Arrested For Using Counterfeit Money At Warsaw Gas Station

WARSAW — A Claypool man was arrested after allegedly using counterfeit money at a Warsaw gas station.
Steven Phillip Maull, 46, 108 N. Rebecca St., Claypool, is charged with possession of methamphetamine, unlawful possession of a syringe, and counterfeiting, all level 6 felonies.
On Dec. 23, 2023, a Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office deputy responded to a report involving a man, later identified as Maull, using counterfeit money at a gas station in Warsaw. Several counterfeit bills were found on Maull’s person. Upon further investigation, the deputy discovered Maull had a warrant for his arrest.
According to court documents, Maull said he found the money in different locations on the road and did not know the money was counterfeit.
While being booked in the Kosciusko County Jail, a jailer found two used syringes and three bags with meth residue on Maull’s person.
Maull has already been arrested and released on his own recognizance. He has an initial hearing at 8:15 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 25, in Kosciusko Circuit Court.
