BURKET — A pet cat lost its life, due to smoke inhalation, in a house fire at 4936 W. Lakeview Park Drive, Warsaw, Tuesday evening, Jan. 23. No other injuries were reported.

Burket and Mentone Fire Departments were called at 9:13 p.m. Tuesday for a structure fire, with flames showing out the back of the residence. Burket called for a full assist from Mentone Fire Department.

According to Burket Fire Chief Kevin McSherry, the departments battled the blaze for three hours.

According to Beacon Mapping System, the home is owned by Brian and Michelle Jackson, Warsaw.
