Syracuse Public Library — Music Comes Alive At The Library
News Release
SYRACUSE — The week of Jan. 29 will be rather musical for children at the Syracuse Public Library. The week starts with Move and Groove Club at 4 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 29, in the downstairs meeting room. This half-hour club features fun dance games for children in kindergarten through fifth grade. Older and younger siblings can also join the fun. This will be the last Move and Groove Club session as the library prepares to launch an art club in March. The library will provide more details in the future.
Younger home-schooled students in first through third grade will also learn about music at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 31, in the downstairs meeting room. During the home school class, they will learn about rhythms and the different music families, such as brass, woodwinds, percussion and strings.
Story time also meets at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 31. Each session is filled with fun stories and even a song or two. Preschoolers learn about the alphabet with a new letter each week. There is usually a letter-themed craft, too.
Knit And Crochet Club
The Syracuse Public Library invites knitters and crocheters to bring their projects to the upstairs sitting area at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 30, to enjoy an hour of cozy fiber arts. Fiber artists of all skill levels can attend, and the library will have pattern books available for inspiration.

Young adult video gaming meets from 4-7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 1, in the Rosalyn Jones Room. During each session, young adults play games on the library’s Nintendo Switch.
