Dawson Arrested For Allegedly Threatening Man While Possessing Taser

WARSAW — A Warsaw man was arrested for allegedly threatening a man while in possession of a taser.
William Joseph Dawson, 47, 1822 La Vista Drive, Warsaw, is charged with intimidation with a deadly weapon, a level 5 felony; and criminal recklessness committed with a deadly weapon, a level 6 felony.
On Jan. 24, Warsaw Police officers responded to a fight at a residence. Upon arrival, officers spoke with a person who said Dawson was drunk and creating havoc in the home. Officers noticed Dawson was belligerent and clearly intoxicated.
According to court documents, a man at the scene said Dawson caused issues and tried to intimidate him. A woman said Dawson had threatened to shoot the man in the past. They also said Dawson used a taser to arc it toward the man every time he spoke.
Dawson confirmed he had a taser and picked it up and arced it after officers told him not to. Dawson denied arcing the taser toward anyone in a threatening manner.
A portable breath test from Dawson resulted in a 0.28% BrAC.
Dawson has already been arrested and released on bond. He has an initial hearing at 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 22, in Kosciusko Superior Court One.
