Goshen Theater Releases February Event Calendar

GOSHEN — The Goshen Theater, 216 S. Main St., has released its February monthly event calendar. For more information, contact the Goshen Theater box office by calling (574) 312-3701 or by emailing [email protected]. Box office hours are 12-4 p.m. Tuesday to Friday.
Feb. 1-25: Visual Arts Series: The Boys and Girls Club of Elkhart County
Stop in at the Goshen Theater Lobby to view the outstanding works of local and county-wide young artists from The Boys and Girls Club of Elkhart County. Artists’ works may be viewed during weekly Box Office hours and all public events. Come celebrate their creativity!
Feb. 1-March 5: Acting and Musical Theater Studios: Second Session Registration Open Now
Goshen Theater Drama Club’s second session of Acting and Musical Theater Studio classes begins March 4 and 5. Acting Studios will focus on improv and devised theater. Students will create original works as an ensemble to be performed at the Spring Showcase on May 31. Acting classes meet every Monday, March 4-May 31. See class schedule below:
Mondays:
3:30-5 p.m. 7-9 year olds
5-6:30 p.m. 10-12 year olds
6:30-8 p.m. 13-18 year olds
Musical theater students will work to hone their trip-threat skills as they sing, dance, and act in a Musical setting. Students will perform the musical numbers they’ve learned at the Spring Showcase on May 31. Classes meet every Tuesday, March 5-May 31. See class schedule below:

7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 9: Free Movie: Soul
Join in the Miller Auditorium at Goshen Theater on Friday, Feb. 9, for a FREE MOVIE NIGHT showing of “Soul” at 7 p.m.
Summary: Joe is a middle-school band teacher whose life hasn’t quite gone the way he expected. His true passion is jazz — and he’s good. But when he travels to another realm to help someone find their passion, he soon discovers what it means to have soul.

Admission to this event is free, but donations are encouraged. Doors open at 6:15 p.m. and the bar and concession stand will be open. This event is sponsored by The Boys and Girls Club of Elkhart County.
8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 16: Moonlight & Moonshine: A Speakeasy Soiree
Join Art House and Goshen Theater for an evening of live music, prohibition-era cocktails, dancing, and more! It’s gonna be the cat’s meow. Your $30 ticket includes appetizers, entertainment and a few additional surprises. 1920’s attire is encouraged but not required.
3 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 17: DES Dance Company Showcase
Join DES Dance Company before they begin their competition season. Featuring brand new pieces, never before seen. Tickets for floor level are $15, with balcony and obstructed view tickets at $14. Seating is limited so reserve your tickets today.

7:30 p.m. and 3 p.m. Friday, Feb. 23-Sunday, Feb. 25: Phoenix Performing Arts Presents “Tuck Everlasting”
Phoenix Performing Arts will be presenting Tuck Everlasting in the Miller Auditorium at Goshen Theatre 7:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 23 and Saturday, Feb. 24 and 3 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 25.
Summary: What would you do if you had all eternity? Eleven-year-old Winnie Foster yearns for a life of adventure beyond her white picket fence, but not until she becomes unexpectedly entwined with the Tuck family does she get more than she could have imagined. As her adventure unfolds, Winnie faces an extraordinary choice: return to her life or continue with the Tucks on their infinite journey.
