Syracuse Public Library — Register For Family Paint Night
News Release
SYRACUSE — Because of inclement weather, Syracuse Public Library rescheduled its Family Paint Night Feb. 13. The program will be from 5-7 p.m. in the downstairs meeting room. Because of limited canvases, painters ages 8 years and older should register individually at http://tinyurl.com/SPLFamilyPaintNight.
SPL will provide alternative art supplies that younger children can use for independent art projects. Participants should plan to arrive at 5 p.m. so they don’t miss a step in the scene painting. Parents should remain with their children during the Family Paint Night. This painting will take the entire two hours.
Continue Your Lifelong Learning Adventure
Adults will have plenty of opportunities to learn during the week of Feb. 12. The knit and crochet club meets at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 13, in the upstairs sitting area. Knitters and crocheters are invited to bring their projects for a cozy hour spent with other fiber artists. The library will also have patterns available for browsing.
A new tech class will teach participants about computer basics. Attendees are encouraged to bring their computer questions to the program at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 13, in the Rosalyn Jones Room.
February’s Craft and Sip is all about self-care. From 4:30-5:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 15, participants will create soothing aloe face masks in the downstairs meeting room. Register for this program at http://tinyurl.com/SPLCraftandSipSelfcare.
From 4-5 p.m. Friday, Feb. 16, in the downstairs meeting room, learn about handy online tools for completing genealogy research. This program is geared toward those less experienced with online research; however, seasoned genealogists could still learn helpful tips and tricks. While not required, interested parties can register for a program reminder at http://tinyurl.com/SPLGenealogy.
Valentine’s Day At The Library
Love will be in the air at the library on Wednesday, Feb. 14. From 10:30 until noon, the Friends of the Syracuse Public Library will hold a coffee social in the upstairs sitting area. Everyone is welcome to pick up coffee and snacks. Families are also encouraged to visit the library at 10:30 a.m. to decorate Valentine’s Day cookies. This decorating program will take the place of the regular home-school class and story time programs. Families can also bring blank Valentines to share.
YA Board Game Night
YA Board Game Night will sample “The Binding of Isaac: Four Souls Requiem: The Ultimate Collection” from 6-7:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 15, in the Rosalyn Jones Room. Collect treasure, gather loot, defeat monsters and be the first to collect four souls in the tabletop card game.
