Man Trapped In Vehicle After Marshall County Accident

MARSHALL COUNTY — A Knox man was trapped in his vehicle after a wreck on Friday, Feb. 16.
At 3:46 p.m. Friday, the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department was notified of a two-vehicle collision on SR 8 west of Upas Road.
Marshall County deputies and Plymouth Fire/EMS responded to the crash. One of the drivers involved in the collision, Phillip A. Dalton, 59, Knox, was entrapped and required extrication from his vehicle.
Plymouth Fire/EMS succeeded in extricating Dalton and transported him to Memorial Hospital for multiple major injuries. The other driver involved in the collision, Gerald A. Ewing, 81, Culver, also sustained injury as a result of the collision. Ewing was also transported to Memorial Hospital for treatment.
The collision is currently under investigation by the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department. Evidence at the scene showed that controlled substance use may have been a factor in the collision.
