One Seriously Injured, One Arrested After Stabbing At Warsaw’s Canterbury Apartments

WARSAW — One person has been arrested and a man sustained serious injuries after a stabbing incident at the Canterbury Apartments in Warsaw on Wednesday night.
Around 7:55 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 21, Warsaw patrol officers were called to 214 Sophie Lane for a reported stabbing. An adult man had fled the scene on foot and another adult man was at the scene, suffering from multiple stab wounds.
Officers began searching the area for the suspect, who was found about 20 minutes later at the entrance of a nearby gravel pit. That suspect was taken into custody without incident.
According to a press release from the Warsaw Police Department, Warsaw-Wayne Fire Territory and Lutheran EMS responded to treat the victim, who was taken to Lutheran Kosciusko Hospital. From there, Lutheran Air took the victim to Lutheran in Fort Wayne. He had significant injuries and his status is unknown at this time.
Warsaw detectives were called to the scene, where a search warrant was requested and granted to be executed on the apartment where this incident originated. Eyewitnesses were also interviewed in this case. The suspect is currently detained and there is no threat to the public.
WPD was assisted by the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office, Winona Lake Police Department, Kosciusko County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office, WWFT, Lutheran EMS, and Lutheran Air. This investigation is active and ongoing.
