Kosciusko County
Officers with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office investigated the following accidents:
- 5:58 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 24, West US 30 and North CR 700W, Warsaw. Driver: Carl W. Slabaugh, 25, CR 127, New Paris. Slabaugh’s pickup truck and trailer left the roadway and jackknifed due to road conditions. Damages up to $10,000.
- 5:36 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 24, West US 30 and North CR 800W, Warsaw. Driver: Victoria J. Bogner, 20, Edgewater Avenue, Syracuse. Bogner’s vehicle left the roadway due to snow and struck a guardrail. Damages up to $10,000.
- 10:56 a.m. Friday, Feb. 23, North SR 15 and W CR 1350N, Milford. Drivers: Heydin M. Oloughlin, 19, Tippecanoe Drive, Warsaw; and Jace A. Adams, 19, East Centennial Street, Nappanee. Oloughlin’s vehicle rear ended Adams’s vehicle while Adams was waiting to turn left. Damages up to $10,000.
Warsaw
Officers with the Warsaw Police Department investigated the following accidents:
- 6:43 a.m. Friday, Feb. 23, Rozella Road, east of Ford Lane, Warsaw. Driver: Mary A. Marshall, 60, West Center Street, Burket. Marshall’s vehicle hit a deer. Damage up to $5,000.
- 5:30 a.m. Friday, Feb. 23, East CR 500N, west of North SR 13, Leesburg. Driver: Jeffrey A. Clark, 61, EMS T7B Lane, Leesburg. Clark, a KCSO deputy, was traveling east on CR 500N and began to slow his vehicle when he saw people on the side of the roadway walking east, partially in the roadway. Clark said he swerved his vehicle but hit a pedestrian, identified as Christian M. McQuade, 30, Warsaw. A portable breath test for Clark resulted in a 0.0% BrAC. McQuade was taken to Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne after being rendered unconscious after the accident.
- 7:25 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 22, North SR 15, near West CR 250N, Warsaw. Drivers: Buddy E. Kuczewski, 76, North Old SR 15, Leesburg; and Jessica A. Hallgath, 28, Scarier Lane, Portage, Mich. Kuczewski’s vehicle rear-ended Hallgath’s. Damage up to $10,000.
- 11:12 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 22, SR 15, north of East Center Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Dana D. Slone, 41, West Sycamore Street, Silver Lake; and Kristi C. Brown, 46, West CR 350S, Warsaw. Slone was attempting to turn left out of a parking lot when she hit Brown’s vehicle. Damage up to $2,500.
- 4:05 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 20, 100 block East Main Street, Warsaw. Driver: unknown. An unknown driver hit a parked, unoccupied vehicle and left the scene. Damage up to $5,000.
- 3:35 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 17, East Jefferson Street and South McKinley Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Noah Y. McPhail, 17, Lake John Circle, Winona Lake; and Maxon D. Bradley, 24, South Roosevelt Street, Warsaw. Bradley’s vehicle struck the rear driver’s side of McPhail’s vehicle in an intersection. McPhail’s passenger, Katiana Pierre, 39, South Roosevelt Street, Warsaw, was transported to Lutheran Kosciusko Hospital for medical treatment. Damages up to $25,000.
