Man Arrested For Allegedly Attempting To Break Into Pierceton Residence

PIERCETON — A man was arrested for allegedly attempting to break into a home in Pierceton.
Samuel Anthony Foster Jr., 40, Gary, is charged with attempted residential entry, a level 6 felony; criminal trespass, a class A misdemeanor; and unauthorized entry to a motor vehicle, a class B misdemeanor.
On Feb. 18, a Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office deputy and Winona Lake Police officer responded to a report of an unwanted person at a residence in Pierceton. A man said Foster was on his property and entered his vehicle without permission.
According to court documents, the man had surveillance footage showing Foster kicking his residence’s front door and attempting to enter his home through another door and window.
Officers reviewed the surveillance footage and also noticed a muddy footprint on the front door. The footage showed Foster walking to the man’s vehicle and looking through the man’s belongings.
Foster was trespassed from the Pierceton residence on Dec. 4, 2023, by KCSO per the man’s request. The man confirmed he did not invite Foster to the residence.
Foster has prior convictions for armed robbery and criminal confinement from Elkhart County.
Foster was booked in the Kosciusko County Jail on Feb. 18, with a $15,250 surety and cash bond.
