Ball State University Extends 2024-25 Enrollment Confirmation Deadline to June 1
New Release
MUNCIE — Ball State University is extending its national enrollment confirmation deadline for the 2024-25 academic year from May 1 to June 1, 2024.
The University’s decision follows a recent announcement by the U.S. Department of Education (ED) regarding a delay in institutions receiving student financial aid information through the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). That delay has resulted in the postponement of the formulation of financial aid packages, which often play a pivotal role in students’ college decisions.
While the ED will begin transmitting FAFSA data to schools by mid-March, it will be several weeks before Ball State receives all filed FAFSA results. The University will begin sending financial aid award letters to accepted students in mid- to late-April.
“Pursuing higher education and achieving a degree can have a transformative impact on one’s life. Therefore, it’s crucial not to rush such a significant decision,” said Paula Luff, vice president for enrollment planning and management at Ball State. “This extension provides students and their families the opportunity and flexibility to carefully evaluate their financial aid options and make well-informed choices.”
Ball State will also host its annual Admitted Student Day on April 12. Registration is now available for admitted students in their Cardinal Landing portal.
Each Spring, all admitted students are invited to celebrate their admission and visit Ball State with their families at this open-house-style event on campus. Participants can explore their academic area of interest, connect with faculty, interact with current students, learn more about student life, and get information about important next steps in their journey as a Ball State Cardinal.
