Kosciusko County
Officers with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office investigated the following accidents:
- 6:22 a.m. Sunday, March 24, 7431 W. Rarrick Road, Warsaw. Driver: unknown. A vehicle owned by Nathan P. Cottrill, Bourbon, went off the roadway, receiving disabling front-end damage. It is unknown who was driving the vehicle at the time of the accident. Property belonging to Everlyn Marsh was damaged in the accident. Damage up to $50,000.
- 2:04 a.m. Sunday, March 24, East CR 500S, east of South CR 300E, Warsaw. Driver: Jonathon G. Fannin, 28, East Front Street, South Whitley. Fannin’s vehicle left the roadway, entering a ditch and hitting a small tree. Damage up to $10,000.
- 11:22 a.m. Saturday, March 23, 726 S. Huntington St., Syracuse. Driver: Jessica L. Catron, 39, Edgewater Avenue, Syracuse. Catron’s vehicle hit a concrete barrier encasing a stop sign. Catron was checked by medics at the scene for a complaint of head pain. Damage up to $10,000.
- 11:45 p.m. Friday, March 22, 3862 S. 275E, Warsaw. Driver: Matthew T. Hanes, 18, East SR 14, Claypool. Hanes attempted to avoid hitting an animal in the roadway, which resulted in his vehicle leaving the roadway, hitting a trash can and small flag pole belonging to Brittany Bollman. Damage up to $25,000.
- 2:18 p.m. Friday, March 22, South County Farm Road, south of East CR 700S, Claypool. Drivers: Stephanie Bonilla, 28, South County Farm Road, Claypool; and Anthony C. Paino, 44, South West Point Drive, Warsaw. Bonilla’s vehicle traveled across the center line of the roadway, resulting in a head-on collision with Paino’s vehicle. Bonilla sustained a cut to her lip and was checked by medics at the scene. Damage up to $25,000.
- 7:59 a.m. Thursday, March 21, North CR 500E, south of East CR 875N, Syracuse. Driver: Bryce E. Thomas, 16, East CR 650N, Syracuse. Thomas’ vehicle hit a deer. Damage up to $10,000.
- 7:29 a.m. Thursday, March 21, North CR 200W, near West CR 1250N, Milford. Driver: Jesse A. Streikus, 42, West CR 200N, Cromwell. Streikus’ vehicle hit a deer. Damage up to $2,500.
- 9:02 a.m. Wednesday, March 20, SR 13, near East South Barbee Drive, Pierceton. Drivers: Joelle G. Pena, 19, East Backwater Road, North Webster; and Ronald J. MacLagan, 77, East South Barbee Drive, Pierceton. Pena was traveling south when MacLagan entered her path of travel, resulting in a collision. Pena sustained minor injuries to her collar bone and arms, but said she would seek medical assistance on her own. MacLagan sustained minor injuries to his neck and declined treatment at the scene. Damage up to $25,000.
- 7:29 a.m. Wednesday, March 20, North CR 300W, near West CR 400N, Warsaw. Driver: Rachel R. Watkins, 41, North Dovewood Trail, Warsaw. Watkins’ vehicle hit a deer. Damage up to $10,000.
- 5:05 a.m. Wednesday, March 20, West US 30, west of South CR 900E, Pierceton. Driver: Jordan Sexton, 36, West Wildwood Avenue, Fort Wayne. Sexton’s vehicle hit a deer. Damage up to $5,000.
- 8:55 p.m. Tuesday, March 19, Old US 30, east of North CR 600E, Pierceton. Driver: Scott A. Collins, 40, Pikeview Drive, Warsaw. Collins’ vehicle hit a deer. Damage up to $2,500.
- 2:45 p.m. Tuesday, March 19, North Main Street, south of West School Street, Leesburg. Drivers: Desirae M. Tom, 18, County Road 687, Dowagiac, Mich.; and Paige N. Montgomery, 26, East CR 900N, Milford. Tom’s vehicle rear-ended Montgomery’s. Damage up to $10,000.
- 9:05 a.m. Tuesday, March 19, North Old SR 15, near West CR 600N, Leesburg. Drivers: Emily E. Schneider, 34, East Oldfield Drive, Leesburg; and Corie A. Pemberton, 37, EMS T34C Lane, Leesburg. Schneider stopped at the CR 600N and Old SR 15 intersection, but did not see Pemberton’s vehicle traveling through the intersection. Damage up to $5,000.
