Fingleton Arrested For Allegedly Stealing Vehicle

WARSAW — A Warsaw man was recently arrested after allegedly stealing a vehicle at a local gas station.
Devin James Fingleton, 28, 321 S. High St., Warsaw, is charged with auto theft, a level 6 felony.
On March 21, a Warsaw Police officer responded to a report of a 2011 Chevrolet Silverado being stolen from a gas station on Winona Avenue. A witness said he saw a man, later identified as Fingleton, acting strangely when he entered the Silverado and traveled west on Winona Avenue. The witness followed the vehicle until it continued east on Center Street.
The vehicle’s owner said he was inside the gas station’s store for about three to four minutes prior to his vehicle being stolen.
According to court documents, surveillance footage from the gas station showed Fingleton approaching the vehicle, entering it, and driving off.
While the officer was investigating the theft, the vehicle’s owner saw the Silverado travel west on Winona Avenue. The officer followed the vehicle, pulled it over, and identified Fingleton as the driver.
Fingleton said he was homeless and needed transportation.
At the time of this case, Fingleton was on pretrial release for theft, resisting law enforcement, and public intoxication.
Fingleton was booked in the Kosciusko County Jail on March 21, with a $5,250 surety and cash bond.
