PIERCETON β Congregations from Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church and Harvest Community Church, Pierceton, joined forces for Easter activities Saturday, March 30.
Events included crafts, a short drama, drawing and gathering of thousands of Easter eggs.
Each adult and child attending the event stopped by the welcome desk to receive a ticket for a drawing of special Easter Baskets. One adult basket β a dinner and a movie, was given out, and seven different Easter Baskets for youngsters were distributed through the drawing.
The activities began with kids enjoying the opportunity to be creative when making a spring scene with animals, a carrot card, egg wreath and chalk art to create a mini poster announcing βHe is risen.β The crafts were coordinated by members from Pleasant Grove.
The group then gathered in the sanctuary at Harvest Community Church, where the drawing was held, and a short drama on the resurrection of Christ.
Thousands of eggs had been scattered in the lawn behind the church in sections. The kids were divided into five age groups and led out to begin their egg gathering. The eggs contained prizes and candy, with five eggs carrying a special message that it was a winning egg. Three of those eggs were worth $50 and two were worth $20.
Donations from individuals and members of the congregations helped provide the crafts, cookies, eggs, and prizes. The two congregations have joined efforts for the past four years.
