Kosciusko County
Officers with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office investigated the following accidents:
- 11:55 p.m. Friday, April 5, 560 S. Zimmer Road, Warsaw. Driver: Isaac M. Adams, 39, West Main Street, Warsaw. Adams’ vehicle hit a fire hydrant. Damage up to $10,000.
- 9:03 p.m. Friday, April 5, East US 30, Warsaw. Driver: Noah B. Adams, 21, Hartzler Street, Warsaw. Adams’ vehicle hit a deer. Damage up to $2,500.
- 6:09 p.m. Friday, April 5, East CR 1000N, east of North CR 450E, Syracuse. Driver: Alisha N. Rowe, 38, North Elm Street, Nappanee. Rowe was traveling west on East CR 1000N when her vehicle left the northern edge of the roadway, entering a field and crossing North CR 450E before hitting a stop sign and street sign. Her vehicle went to the other side of CR 450E, eventually overturning and ejecting both her and a passenger in the vehicle. Rowe was found laying in the roadway with significant internal injuries and was airlifted to a hospital in Fort Wayne. Keavarie Rowe, 9, Nappanee, was a passenger in the vehicle and was found in a ditch. He was taken by ground ambulance to a Fort Wayne hospital for back injuries. Damage up to $25,000.
- 1:18 pm. Friday, April 5, East Armstrong Road, at the intersection of North CR 475E, Leesburg. Drivers: Daniel R. Haberman, 19, EMS T7 Lane, Leesburg; and Calvin D. Coy, 51, West CR 1400N, North Manchester. Haberman was attempting to turn south onto CR 475E when he hit Coy’s vehicle. Damage up to $25,000.
- 12:51 a.m. Friday, April 5, East Main Street, at the intersection of North Wray Street, Atwood. Driver: Tasha Livinghouse-Alexander, 48, Lake Avenue, Plymouth. Livinghouse-Alexander was traveling on a curve when her vehicle left the roadway, sideswiping a tree and hitting a second tree. Her vehicle then overturned and came to a rest on its roof. A speed limit sign was also damaged in the accident. Livinghouse-Alexander appeared to have substantial injuries to her facial region, including abrasions and swelling near her jaw. She was taken to a hospital in South Bend. Damage up to $25,000.
- 11:49 a.m. Tuesday, April 2, 205 S. First St., Pierceton. Driver: Linda S. Needler, 75, East Ponderosa Drive, North Webster. Needler was attempting to park in a parking space when her vehicle hit a house at 205 S. First St. Needler complained of back pain and was checked by medics at the scene. The home is owned by Bailey Cook. Damage up to $25,000.
- 8:35 p.m. Monday, April 1, East SR 14, at the intersection of South CR 300E, Claypool. Driver: Addison R. Schoolcraft, 27, North Calhoun Street, South Whitley. Schoolcraft’s vehicle hit a deer. Damage up to $5,000.
- 5:40 p.m. Friday, March 29, North CR 800E, north of East CR 1000N, Syracuse. Drivers: Andrew J. Springer, 19, Deerpath Road, Sycamore, Ill.; and Gage M. Borkholder, 20, East Lincoln Street, Millersburg. Springer’s vehicle went left of center, sideswiping Borkholder’s vehicle. Damage up to $2,500.
- 3:24 p.m. Tuesday, March 26, 8911 N. Syracuse Webster Road, Syracuse. Driver: Trevon A. Pena, 17, North Shaffer Street, Milford. Pena was turning left around a curve when he overcorrected, causing his vehicle to leave the roadway, hitting a wooden deck at a house at 8911 N. Syracuse Webster Road. The residence’s homeowner, Larry Erb, said the deck, a foundation wall, and a propane system regulator were all damaged in the accident. Damage up to $25,000.
