WARSAW — A Warsaw man with a prior battery conviction was recently arrested for allegedly battering a woman.

Levi Samuel Crisler, 31, 418 Briar Ridge Circle, Warsaw, is charged with domestic battery resulting in moderate bodily injury and domestic battery with a prior conviction enhancement, both level 6 felonies; and domestic battery, a class A misdemeanor.

On April 3, Warsaw Police officers responded to a domestic battery complaint. A woman said she and Crisler were arguing when he grabbed the woman’s neck, pushed her backward, and hit the right side of her face. Officers noticed redness and swelling on the woman’s right cheek.

According to court documents, Crisler said he was trying to leave when the woman attempted to hit him. He said he evaded the woman, but she tripped and hit her face on a piece of furniture.

The woman provided a video of the incident to officers. In the video, Crisler is seen hitting the woman’s neck, which caused the woman to fall backward. It also showed Crisler hitting her face with his right hand.

Crisler has a prior conviction for domestic battery in Kosciusko County from January 2021.

Crisler was booked in the Kosciusko County Jail on April 3.
