Dear Editor,

This letter is in reference to the recent charges against Kosciusko County councilwoman Kim Cates.

I have a couple of questions for the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department: Why was Ms. Cates not arrested for registering over twice the legal limit while operating a vehicle? Why was she not made to go to jail and spend the night in that disgusting holding cell, as so many citizens of the county, including myself, were forced to do?

Furthermore, you gave her a ride back to her home. This is a blatant example of special treatment of a politician when the rest of us would have been made to make bond and sit in the drunk tank as well as have our mugshots posted in this very publication.

Shame on you.
