Stillwater Hospice Attains Credential For Inclusivity

FORT WAYNE — Stillwater Hospice, a 136-year-old locally based nonprofit hospice, palliative and grief support agency, has announced it has received a platinum level SageCare credential.
The credential signifies Stillwater Hospice’s commitment to providing an inclusive environment for LGBTQ+ adults. Stillwater Hospice is the only hospice agency in Indiana to receive the credential.
SageCare awarded Stillwater Hospice with its SageCare credential after an assessment of policies, practices and staff training to create an inclusive space for all patients and loved ones, regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity.

The SageCare credential process evaluates agencies based on various criteria, including nondiscrimination policies, staff training on LGBTQ+ cultural competency, community engagement and support services. By meeting and exceeding thee standards, Stillwater Hospice has demonstrated a commitment to promoting a supportive environment for LGBTQ+ adults.
