SEVASTOPOL — Multiple fire departments responded to a report of a house fire south of Mentone on Wednesday afternoon.

Around 3:35 p.m. Wednesday, April 17, Mentone Fire Department responded to a report of a structure fire at 9058 W. 700S, Claypool. Burket and Henry Township Fire Departments were called for full assists, with Silver Lake Fire Department being placed on standby.

Initial reports stated a power pole fell on a residence’s roof, with smoke billowing from a chimney.

According to Kosciusko County Beacon GIS, the property is owned by Michael J. and Patricia A. Walters.
