Grief Hikes
News Release
FORT WAYNE — Time spent in nature has been associated with improved mental health and overall well-being.
Walking and movement can be helpful in processing emotions that are a part of the grieving process. Grief hikes are designed to combine these benefits through mindful movement and immersion in nature.
The Peggy F. Murphy Community Grief Center, 5920 Homestead Road, Fort Wayne, in collaboration with ACRES Land Trust will be hosting Grief Hikes at 10 a.m. the third Friday every month from May through September. This collaboration is meant to help introduce the grieving community to how accessible the ACRES trails are for their own healing journey while also having the opportunity to hike and process grief with a group.
Each hike will be held at a different ACRES location, accessible within the Stillwater Hospice service area. Hikes are open to any adult who has experienced a death-related loss. Because hikes are limited to 10 participants, RSVP is required for each hike. Contact the Grief Center to register.
Call (260) 435-3261 or email [email protected] to reserve a spot. RSVPs are required by Friday, April 26.
