Kosciusko County
Officers with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office investigated the following accidents:
- 1:10 a.m. Sunday, April 21, 35 EMS B33A Lane, at the intersection of EMS B33A1 Lane, Warsaw. Driver: Kaedence Zellmer, 14, North Huntington Street, Syracuse. Zellmer backed her vehicle off the roadway and into a creek. Damage up to $5,000.
- 8:10 p.m. Saturday, April 20, Syracuse Webster Road, west of North CR 700E, Syracuse. Driver: Addison Coy, 17, EMS B18 Lane, Pierceton. Coy’s vehicle left the roadway. Damage up to $2,500.
- 3:26 p.m. Saturday, April 20, East SR 14, west of South CR 400E, Claypool. Driver: Jordan B. Schrader, 42, West Jackson Street, Bourbon. Schrader’s vehicle hit a deer. Damage up to $10,000.
- 11:52 a.m. Saturday, April 20, South Country Club Road, at the intersection of Sycamore Drive, Warsaw. Drivers: Jonathan E. Boggs, 36, South Lake Sharon Road, Warsaw; and Braxton Mickem, 17, EMS W17 Lane, North Webster. Mickem said he was attempting to pass Boggs’ vehicle, as Boggs was stopped in traffic with his right turn signal on. Mickem told officers this confused him as Boggs’ vehicle could only turn left. While Mickem was passing Boggs’ vehicle on the left side, Boggs turned left, hitting Mickem’s vehicle and causing Mickem’s vehicle to overturn onto its side. Mickem’s vehicle also entered a yard at 1718 S. Country Club Road and hit a Brightspeed utility pole. The accident also caused Boggs’ vehicle to overturn onto its side. Boggs was taken to Parkview Fort Wayne Hospital. for minor facial injuries. Mickem sustained facial abrasions in the accident.
- 9:16 a.m. Saturday, April 20, South SR 15, north of West CR 700S, Claypool. Drivers: Cody Craig, 24, West CR 900S Lot 32, Claypool; and Jonathan Carr, 43, South SR 19, Akron. Craig’s vehicle rear-ended Carr’s. Damage up to $10,000.
- 12:49 p.m. Friday, April 19, North CR 300E, at the intersection of East Bowser Road, Milford. Drivers: Michael J. Rauschenburg, 40, North Reed Street, Warsaw; and Brittney M. Miller, 36, West CR 1000N, Ligonier. Rauschenburg failed to yield the right-of-way to Miller’s vehicle, resulting in a collision. Damage up to $10,000.
- 9:20 a.m. Friday, April 19, 4330 N. Old SR 15 Lot 37, Warsaw. Driver: Cesar Lara-Acosta, 22, North Old SR 15 Lot 42, Warsaw. Elena Romero-Torres, Warsaw, said a black vehicle hit her home and drove away. Lara-Acosta was determined to be the driver who hit the home and a parked, unoccupied vehicle. Damage up to $10,000.
- 7:51 a.m. Friday, April 19, North SR 13, east of North CR 650E, Syracuse. Drivers: Stone L. Shipley, 18, EMS B48 Lane, Warsaw; Devin J. Sewell, 16, EMS W30A1 Lane, Warsaw; and Sam Trowbridge, 17, East CR 500N, Leesburg. Shipley’s vehicle rear-ended Trowbridge’s, and Sewell’s vehicle rear-ended Shipley’s. Shipley complained of neck pain and was checked by medics at the scene. Damage up to $25,000.
- 6:30 a.m. Friday, April 19, North SR 19, south of West CR 250N, Etna Green. Driver: Kenton Cornell, 26, Perry Avenue, Bremen. Cornell’s vehicle left the roadway and flipped four times prior to landing right side up. Damage up to $10,000.
- 5:20 p.m. Thursday, April 18, 8919 E. Black Point Road, Syracuse. Driver: unknown. A vehicle was parked and unoccupied when it sustained damage from an unknown driver. Damage up to $2,500.
- 7:38 p.m. Wednesday, April 17, North CR 200E, Milford. Driver: Miguel Gomez Gonzalez, 20, East Armstrong Road, Leesburg. Gomez Gonzalez’s vehicle left the roadway, hitting a street sign and large rock. Damage up to $10,000.
- 5:26 p.m. Wednesday, April 17, West CR 100S, Warsaw. Driver: Blake E. Winters, 30, North CR 175E, Warsaw. Winters’ vehicle left the roadway, hitting a tree and rolling over several times. Winters sustained abrasions to his arms, hands, and head. He refused treatment at the scene. Damage up to $25,000.
- 3:52 p.m. Wednesday, April 17, West Union Street, at Mile Marker 15, Warsaw. Driver: Riley D. Hale, 17, West Lakeview Park Drive, Warsaw. Hale’s vehicle left the roadway and rolled several times. Hale complained of hip pain and sustained abrasions to her arms and hands. She said she would seek medical attention at a later time. Damage up to $25,000.
- 7:55 a.m. Wednesday, April 17, CR 600S, east of South County Farm Road, Claypool. Driver: Samuel J. Whitaker, 73, East CR 600S, Claypool. Whitaker’s vehicle hit a deer. Damage up to $5,000.
- 2:01 a.m. Wednesday, April 17, East Wawasee Circle, east of North Honeycomb Lane, Syracuse. Driver: Abbigail Booth, 12, Main Street, Syracuse. Booth’s vehicle left the roadway, sliding on wet grass and hitting a large concrete barrier before going down a steep embankment. The vehicle then turned onto its side in a creek. Booth was taken to a local hospital for a complaint of elbow and lower arm pain. Two passengers in the vehicle, Skeyler King, 14, Syracuse; and Bryley Hafner, 11, Syracuse, were treated at the scene. King sustained minor injuries to her knee and lower leg area. Hafner had a general complaint of pain. Damage up to $25,000.
- 5:50 p.m. Tuesday, April 16, South SR 19, south of the West CR 800S intersection, Akron. Drivers: McKinley A. Adams, 24, Madison Street, Decatur; and Teresa J. Robinson, 49, East Walnut Street, Akron. Adams was attempting to turn to enter the entrance of Tippecanoe Valley High School when he entered Robinson’s path of travel. Robinson was traveling south on SR 19 at the time. Adams was checked by medics at the scene for unspecified injuries. Damage up to $50,000.
- 5:32 a.m. Monday, April 15, Armstrong Road, at the intersection of North CR 200E, Leesburg. Drivers: Pablo I. Gonzalez-Esqueda, 17, River Avenue East, Warsaw; and Jesus D. Sifuentes-Ceballos, 36, East CR 500N Lot 4, Leesburg. Gonzalez-Esqueda failed to stop at a stop sign, and hit Sifuentes-Ceballos’ vehicle. Gonzalez-Esqueda sustained minor injuries to his chest and left arm and was taken to Lutheran Kosciusko Hospital. Damage up to $25,000.
- 4:54 a.m. Monday, April 15, East CR 1400N, at the intersection of North CR 100E, Milford. Driver: Drake Milford, 27, West Wildwood Drive, Syracuse. Milford disregarded a stop sign, causing his vehicle to enter a field. Damage up to $10,000.
- midnight Monday, April 15, North SR 13, at the intersection of East CR 900N, Syracuse. Drivers: Marissa A. Rowe, 32, East Magill Court, Syracuse; and Michael J. Landry, 41, CR 42, Goshen. Rowe’s vehicle rear-ended Landry’s, causing Landry’s vehicle to roll onto its top. Landry was partially pinned inside the vehicle until the back passenger window of his vehicle was removed. Landry was checked on scene by medics for minor abdominal pain. Damage up to $25,000.
