WARSAW — One driver was taken to Parkview Fort Wayne Hospital for an evaluation following an all terrain vehicle and pickup truck accident Saturday, April 20.
At approximately 11:55 a.m. Saturday, April 20, Warsaw-Wayne Fire Territory and Lutheran EMS were dispatched for a two vehicle accident at 1719 South Country Club Road.
At the scene, first responders discovered an ATV and a pickup truck had collided. Both vehicles came to a rest on their sides.
According to a Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office report, Braxton Mickem, 17, North Webster, was driving a blue 2005 Ford F250 when he came across a red 2013 all terrain Cub Cadet driven by Jonathan E. Boggs, 36, Warsaw. Mickem reported that Boggs was stopped with its right turn light on, which Mickem said confused him because Boggs could only turn left.
Mickem turned left to go around Boggs’ ATV when the ATV turned left into the path of Mickem’s Ford. Mickem overcorrected, which caused his pickup truck to end up on its left side. Mickem’s truck also went through a yard at 1718 Country Club Road, which caused seven foot long ruts in the yard. Mickem’s pickup also hit a Brightspeed utility pole.
According to the Warsaw-Wayne Fire Territory at the scene, Mickem and Boggs were able to extricate themselves and were being assessed at the scene by Lutheran EMS. Mickem sustained abrasions to his face and Boggs was transported to Parkview Fort Wayne Hospital for a medical evaluation.
Both vehicles were towed from the scene.
Assisting at the scene were the Warsaw Police Department and the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department.
