Hydrant Flushing In Warsaw, Winona Lake Starting April 29
News Release
WARSAW — Indiana American Water is planning to perform hydrant flushing in Warsaw and Winona Lake starting Monday, April 29, and concluding on or before Wednesday, May 8.
No major effects are expected. A temporary drop in system pressure will be localized to a small area around the hydrant being flushed. Some ponding may occur in areas with poor drainage, but this will be minimized as much as possible, according to a news release from Indiana American Water.
If tap water becomes discolored, Indiana American Water recommends allowing several cold-water faucets to run for a short time until the water runs clear. Using more than one faucet allows the water to clear more quickly.
The company conducts the annual hydrant maintenance program to ensure fire hydrants are operational.
All Indiana Department of Environmental Management standards will be followed, according to a news release.
