Man With Two OWI Convictions Arrested For Allegedly Driving Under The Influence

SYRACUSE — A Syracuse man with two prior OWI convictions was recently arrested for allegedly operating a motorcycle while under the influence.
Zachary Adam Anderson, 32, 107 N. Acorn St. Apartment A., Syracuse, is charged with operating a vehicle while intoxicated endangering a person, a class A misdemeanor; operating a vehicle with an alcohol concentration equivalent to at least 0.08 but less than 0.15, a class C misdemeanor; and two counts of operating a vehicle with an ACE of 0.08 or more with a prior conviction, both level 6 felonies.
Around 4:30 a.m. June 11, 2023, a Syracuse Police officer responded to a single-vehicle motorcycle accident with possible injury on SR 13, near Vawter Park Road. Upon arrival at the scene, the officer saw Anderson walking around, but noticed he was exhibiting physical signs of intoxication.
According to court documents, a responding Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office deputy was unable to administer field sobriety tests to Anderson due to his injuries. Anderson was taken to Lutheran Fort Wayne Hospital.
On July 13, 2023, certified chemical test results showed Anderson had a 0.10% BAC.
Anderson has two prior convictions for operating a vehicle while intoxicated.
Anderson was booked in the Kosciusko County Jail on April 15, 2024, with a $5,250 surety and cash bond.
