Shilling named new Warsaw-Wayne Fire Territory Chief

WARSAW — Warsaw Mayor Jeff Grose has announced the appointment of Joel Shilling as Fire Chief of the Warsaw-Wayne Fire Territory. This selection follows the resignation of Chief Brian Mayo.
Shilling currently serves as Fire Marshal for the Warsaw-Wayne Fire Territory. He has been with the department for eight years, serving in both firefighter and fire marshal roles.
Shilling has served his community as a volunteer for Plain Township/Leesburg Fire Department for 12 years, serving as firefighter, lieutenant, captain, assistant chief, and most recently as chief.
Shilling is a graduate of Warsaw Community High School and grew up in the Warsaw community. Shilling and his wife of 11years, Andrea, reside in Leesburg with their three children.
Shilling will begin his leadership as chief on Monday, April 29, where he will command a staff of administrative personnel and 33 firefighters.
