WARSAW — May is going to be a great month at Warsaw Community Public Library. We have lots of fantastic events planned for all ages and interests.
We have a few different offerings for those looking for events that will appeal to different age groups. First, there’s our celebration of all things Star Wars on Saturday, “May the 4th.” On Tuesday, May 7, Ted Yoder will give an amazing dulcimer concert. And if you enjoy games, consider joining us for “Euchre @ the Library” on Tuesday, May 14, and family bingo on Saturday, May 18.
We have a couple of offerings for adults who want to get creative. Local artist Lisa Bemish will lead “Tea & Canvas” on Monday, May 13. Registration is required, and the cost is $15. On Monday, May 20, you can join us to make a patterned paper wreath craft. Registration is also required, but there’s no cost. For those looking for non-crafting options, join us for “Growing Lettuce in the Living Room” with Steve Koontz on Tuesday, May 21.
Looking for events for kids? In addition to “Library Lego” on Saturday, May 4, and “Greyt Readers” on Saturday, May 11, we’re excited to kick off two summer story series. At “Stories in STEM,” starting Thursday, May 9, our friends from the Lilly Center for Lakes & Streams will be here for stories and hands-on activities focusing on how important our local lakes, wetlands and streams are. And at “Stories in the Park,” starting Thursday, May 30, we’ll have stories and songs for the first half, and then our friends from the Warsaw Parks Department will lead activities for the second half.
And last, but certainly not least, we have our events for teens and tweens. For teens, there’s the teen anime club on Wednesday, May 8; “Teen Stress Relief & Tacos” on Thursday, May 9; and “Teen Create a Book Trailer” on Thursday, May 23, where teens will be writing, filming and acting in a trailer made for a popular teen book. At “Tween Post-it Note Story Time” on Tuesday, May 14, tweens will write stories using picture books and Post-it notes. And at “Tween Threatre Games” on Tuesday, May 28, tweens will learn theater games and improvisation techniques.
With music, crafts, stories, games and more, you’re sure to find something to do at Warsaw Community Public Library in May. We look forward to having you join us at these great events.
