Juanita ‘Betty’ Kindig
Juanita “Betty” Kindig, of Silver Lake, passed away into the presence of the Lord surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday, May 1, 2024, at her residence, at the age of 86.
She was born on Aug. 9, 1937, in Greensburg, Ind., to Margaret L. (Kress) Owens and Albert M. Owens. Betty spent her childhood years in Greensburg, where she graduated from Greensburg High School. At the young age of 17, she married Donald W. Price in January 1955. They shared 18 years together before he passed away on Feb. 17, 1973. Later, she was blessed to have met a wonderful man to share her life with again. On Sept. 24, 1974, Betty married Richard Lee Kindig. They would have celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary this year.
She dearly loved her blended family. Being Mom and a wonderful homemaker kept her busy. Betty watched her children marry and become parents themselves, and she enjoyed each and every grandchild who came into her life. Betty was raised to love her Lord and enjoyed worshiping alongside her church family at Calvary Tabernacle in Winona Lake. With a heart for God, throughout her life she shared her faith and influenced many children as a Sunday school teacher. She raised her family in Christ and instilled many good values that will continue. Betty will be missed and forever loved and remembered as a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend.
She leaves behind her husband, Richard Lee Kindig, Silver Lake; three sons, Michael W. (Nelrose) Price, Greensburg, Daniel A. (Edna) Kindig, Silver Lake, and Todd Lee (Heather) Kindig, Simi Valley, Calif.; three daughters, Tracy (Bryan) Murphy, Akron, Rose Alee Click, Silver Lake, and Traci L. (Robert “Bob”) Arthur, Simi Valley, Calif.; son-in-law, Rodney Grossman, Silver Lake; daughter-in-law, Rosemary Price, Warsaw; and her foster son, Darnell E. Sutton, Warsaw. Also surviving are 14 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; two brothers, Charles (Rosa) Owens and David (Jean) Owens, both of Greensburg; and one sister, Sharon (Thomas “Tom”) Butz, Greensburg. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Kelly Grossman; two grandchildren, Ashley and Angela Grossman; son, Gary Allen Price; as well as four sisters and a brother.
