WARSAW — The Warsaw Area Career Center recently hosted the 2nd Annual Northern Indiana Metals Competition.
This year’s competition not only highlighted the talent and hard work of the participants but also celebrated the strong support from local industries.
“Watching students compete and get rewarded for their talents was a lot of fun. A huge thank you to all of our community partners for their donations for the prizes, and support of our programs,” said Warsaw Area Career Center Lead Welding Instructor Jeremiah Paseka.
The event featured a showcase of skills with 24 welders and 6 machinists competing from Warsaw and Wawasee’s welding program. Competing students demonstrated their abilities, supported by prizes generously donated by community sponsors.
“I am incredibly proud of the hard work that our teachers and students put on display for the past two years,” shared WACC Principal Ben Barkey. “It is amazing to see community members, faculty and parents in our manufacturing space celebrating the talents of the next generation of welders and machinists.”
WCS Superintendent Dr. David Hoffert, Superintendent, also expressed his appreciation.
“Warsaw Community Schools is proud to partner with local industry to offer a welding and machining competition,” said Hoffert. “It was inspiring to see local experts working alongside WACC students as they showcased their skills and certifications.”
