Emerson Poort Files For Seat On Warsaw Community Schools’ Board Of Trustees
Press Release
WARSAW — Emerson Poort has filed his candidacy for Warsaw Community Schools’ Board of Trustees’ District 4 seat.
District 4 encompasses the area around Chapman Lake.
Poort was born and raised in Warsaw. He graduated from Warsaw Community High School in 1998. Poort and his wife, Natalie, have three children, ages 20, 13, and 9.
Poort graduated from Ball State University with a degree in economics and for the past 20 years has been in the insurance industry; risk management, where he is a partner at his firm.
Poort has conservative values and recognizes the school system is much different today than it was many years ago. He understands the important role parents play in students’ lives, and how that relationship is then built within the school system through their teachers, administrators, school staff and resource officers. The partnership between the family and school is critically important.
“I am proud to live in a community where there is such a strong focus on building up our kids so they can excel,” said Poort. “The Warsaw Community School system is top notch and, if elected, it is my goal to represent my constituents of District 4 to further support all aspects of the school corporation to ensure that all students are afforded the absolute best resources and opportunities. It would be a privilege to represent District 4 and to serve the community which I absolutely love.”
