Staff Report
WARSAW — A Warsaw woman was arrested after allegedly using a device to interfere with a drug screening at the Kosciusko County Probation Office.
Kitrina Kathleen Beard, 46, 702 Ross Ave., Warsaw, is charged with obstruction of justice, a level 6 felony; and interfering with a drug test, a class B misdemeanor.
On April 9, Beard went to the Kosciusko County Probation Office for a random drug screen as a bond condition ordered by the court.
A female probation officer observed Beard provide a urine specimen for testing. According to court documents, the officer heard a sound similar to a nail. The officer discovered Beard used a small bottle with a liquid substance inside that Beard substituted for her own urine.
Beard said she used marijuana a month and a half prior to being tested.
Beard has already been arrested and released on bond. She has an initial hearing at 1 p.m. Thursday, June 27, in Kosciusko Superior Court Three.
