Damien W. Flannery
Damien William Flannery, of Silver Lake, passed away unexpectedly Sunday, June 30, 2024, at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne, at the age of 38. His family described him as a good, big-hearted kid, and they loved him so very much.
He was born on Oct. 9, 1985, in Warsaw, to Melisa Jane (Lung) Weisser and Lawrance William Flannery. Damien was a lifetime resident of Kosciusko County, where he was a 2004 graduate of Tippecanoe Valley High School in Akron.
Damien worked various jobs throughout his life. He was a friendly Uber driver, and he worked in the shipping department of Biomet in Warsaw, as well as at Autoliv in Columbia City. He always had a positive attitude and simply loved life. When he became a father, his heart swelled with love at the sight of his daughter. Damien was an all-around good guy who was surrounded by many great friends. He loved animals and always had a soft spot for spoiling his many pets over the years. One of his favorite pastimes was enjoying a warm sunny day, spending hours fishing or swimming in Diamond Lake. Damien left this world so abruptly, but in his 38 years he lived a lifetime. He will forever be loved and remembered by his family and friends.
He leaves behind his beloved daughter, Amiyah Raine Flannery, Fort Wayne; mother, Melisa Jane (Tim) Weisser, Milford; father, Lawrance (Debbie) Flannery, Silver Lake; brother, Kenton Secor, Westville; and his loving grandmothers, Shirley Mullins, Silver Lake, and Annette Kline, North Manchester, who will miss him dearly. Also surviving are several aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his brother, Dan Easterday.
Damien’s life will be celebrated with a service at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 6, at Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, 225 Argonne Road, Warsaw, and officiated by Envoy Ken Locke of the Salvation Army. He will be laid to rest at Oakwood Cemetery of Warsaw. Friends and family may visit prior to the service from 9-11 a.m.
