Patsy J. VanVactor
Patsy J. VanVactor, 81, formerly of Etna Green, passed at 6:10 p.m., Sunday, May 12 at Miller’s Merry Manor of Plymouth.
Patsy was born on Aug. 2, 1942 in Argos to the late Ralph “Mike” and Alice (Fish) Harmon.
Born the only child, Patsy attended the Walnut School and then Argos Community Schools, where she met Gene Davis. They had 3 children, Bill, Brenda and Barbara. They later separated, but she went on to meet Douglas Shipley and had one daughter, Sandra.
Life took her on many journeys in which she met and married William “Bill” VanVactor Sr. and then she became a stepmom to four more children William, Barbara, Becky and Ronda.
Patsy enjoyed stock car racing, NASCAR, crafting, painting and puzzles. She loved cookouts and spending time with family.
She is survived by her son, Billy Joe and wife Penny Davis of Argos; daughters, Brenda Chilton of Etna Green, Barbara Wagoner of Etna Green and Sandy and husband, Ronald Stockberger of Arizona City, AZ; stepchildren Bill “Butch” VanVactor of Plymouth, Barbara Redding of Yuma, AZ, Becky Turley of Golden Valley, AZ, and Ronda Guin of Martinsburg, WV; 7 grandchildren and many great grandchildren.
Patsy was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Bill.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, July 11, in the Walnut Church of the Brethren Cemetery, Argos.
The arrangements have been entrusted to King Memorial Home, 101 North Tucker St., Mentone.
