Warsaw Man With Prior OWI Conviction Arrested For Allegedly Driving Under The Influence

WARSAW — A Warsaw man with a prior OWI conviction was arrested for allegedly driving while under the influence.
Cory Michael Thomas, 47, 3070 S. Packerton Road, Warsaw, is charged with operating a vehicle while intoxicated, a class C misdemeanor; resisting law enforcement and operating a vehicle while intoxicated with an enhancement, both level 6 felonies; and resisting law enforcement, a class A misdemeanor.
On June 16, a Warsaw Police officer was patrolling when he noticed a vehicle traveling without illuminated headlights and passing another vehicle when it was not supposed to. When the officer attempted to pull the vehicle over, its driver disregarded the officer, turning at several intersections and traveling around 25 mph. The driver, later identified as Thomas, eventually stopped at a local business.
According to court documents, while being taken into custody, Thomas tensed his body and pulled away from officers.
Officers smelled alcohol on Thomas’ person, and Thomas refused to answer any questions.
Thomas tested 0.18% BrAC on a portable breath test.
Thomas was previously convicted of OWI in Kosciusko County in September 2019.
Thomas has already been arrested and released on bond.
