WARSAW — The Kosciusko County Community Fair unofficially kicked off Sunday, July 7, with the fair parade, but there were other activities going on around the fairgrounds Saturday evening prior to the fair’s official opening today, Monday, July 8.
A dairy show took place Saturday afternoon along with the Horse and Pony Costume competition, Rabbit Ambassador Contest and American Heritage judging. Fireworks were held at dusk.
Sunday continued with various livestock shows including Alpaca, rabbit and goat judgings, along with mini 4-H goat, horse and pony, and of course the Battle of the Barns. A parade of champions was held recognizing non-livestock 4-H’ers who received grand and reserve grand champions in their 4-H projects.
The parade kicked off at 3 p.m. Following the parade hundreds flocked the fair to see the 4-H exhibits, Home and Family Arts displays and livestock. The most popular activity was getting the first taste of fair food for the week.
Many gathered at the grandstand Sunday evening for the Heavy Weight Horse pull.
More activities and events are on tap for Monday and throughout the rest of the week.
