News Release
PIERCETON — Maverick Motorcycle’s Kierstyn Jones, along with Kosciusko County Animal Welfare League advocate and event rider Katie Platt, organized the first “Mutts and Motorcycles Benefit and Silent Auction” for AWL shelter pets.
The event raised a total of $5,176. Maverick Motorcycle also sponsored six dog adoptions that will have no fees.
“We are so thankful for the Maverick Motorcycles and these ladies,” said AWL Executive Director Tonya Blanchard. “We can’t begin to thank them enough. Our shelter continues to have record-breaking numbers this year. Last week we had 426 pets in our care between pets in the shelter and pets in foster care. Our staff keeps going because these pets absolutely need us.”
“What a fantastic turnout for our local Animal Welfare League of Kosciusko County,” said Platt. “Donation bins filled with pet items. There were 76 registered motorcycles. Thanks so much to everyone who came out for the cause. Our events wouldn’t be what they are without our Maverick owners, crew, friends and supporters.”
