Saturday At Fair Includes Food Vendors, Show and Shine, More

WARSAW — Sales from the Etna Green Lions Club’s food booth at the Kosciusko County Fairgrounds help others, said Jeff Hoffman.

Hoffman serves as the club’s secretary and treasurer.

According to fellow member Al Sharkey, the club has had a booth at the fair since the 1950s.

On Saturday, July 13, he said food sales for fair week were “just a little slow,” which he attributed to the wet weather earlier on in the week.

Hoffman said though the club has to pay dues to Lions Clubs International, any money raised from the food sales “goes back out to the community.”

Funds go for a scholarship, helping the Triton Junior Football League and doing eyeglass screenings for kids in the Triton School Corp.

“This is our main fundraiser,” Hoffman noted.

He said generally 16 people have volunteered each day in the booth, split into two shifts.
