Michael A. Meeker

NEW PARIS — A New Paris man was arrested for allegedly inappropriately touching himself while in the presence of two children.

Michael A. Meeker, 56, 67482 CR 29, New Paris, is charged with display of matter harmful to minors, a level 6 felony.

On Nov. 3, 2023, the Elkhart County Sheriff’s Office received a report about Meeker exposing himself to a child.

In an interview with police, the child said they were watching television with a friend when Meeker entered the room and started watching TV with them.

According to court documents, the child said Meeker inappropriately touched himself while he was in the room. They said their friend could not see what Meeker was doing from where they were sitting. When the child found out they and their friend were going to be picked up by Meeker from a school activity, they panicked and contacted a relative to come pick them up.

The child then told their relative about the incident.

Meeker has already been arrested in Elkhart County and released on bond.
